ADO cricket Qualifier coming up

Last ADO qualifier of 2016 is at Sunset Lanes on October 8th. Sign-in at 11:30; play starts at noon. Looking to have a separate ladies bracket if we get enough interest or us ladies can play with the men as well!

This one is all cricket! Round Robin format - play all 3 legs - one bracket unless we have over 12 people.

FREE to all GVDA members in good standing. Not a member yet? You can be! For $15 you can be a general member and play this qualifier plus the mid-season tournament. Dues must be paid prior to the mid-season and/or qualifier.

Winner(s) move on to the Regional November 5th at Quigley's in Albany.

Let me know who will be attending!

Rule of the Week 9-26-2016

The Hockey

If a player has any part of their feet or shoes over the hockey during a throw, the score made during that throw is void. One warning by the opposing captain will be sufficient notice before invoking this rule against any or all members of the warned team.

A player wishing to throw from a position to either side of the existing hockey must keep their feet behind an imaginary straight line extending the hockey to either side.

Great day of darts for Invictus event #3

1st place Winner: Dale LaFrance

2nd place Winner: Robert Stewart

Both advance to the finals in Syracuse in December!!

Great shooting everyone!

Rule of the week 9-19-2016

Some basic rules

Any dart that leaves either of the player’s hands and touches any part of the playing area beyond the hockey (i.e., between the hockey and the dartboard) is considered thrown.

Darts which touch the floor behind or land straddling the hockey are considered dropped and may be picked up and thrown during that player’s turn (a dart bouncing off or falling out of the dartboard cannot be rethrown).

Any dart that bounces back off the board, backer, wall, chalker, or any anything beyond the hockey cannot be caught and rethrown.

Rule of the week 9-12-2016

Scoring the Throw

To score, a dart must remain in the dartboard for 5 seconds after the player's last dart has been thrown.

The thrower must verify the score with the chalker before removing their darts from the dartboard. If any darts are removed and a disagreement arises as to score, the chalker's decision must stand.

Darts may not be touched by anyone (including the chalker) prior to the chalker's decision as to score.
