Weather Postponement

In light of the continued ban on all unnecessary travel, the fact that 490 is closed and the weather radar that calls for continuing snow until at least 6pm the GVDA has decided to postpone darts for this evening. Please inform your taverns in the event that may want to close. Matches will be made up in week 9 as part of a double points night as the schedule is an exact duplicate of tonight's schedule. Alternatively, if captains agree, matches can be made in a different manner. Options include playing on a different night or, if the tavern has 2 boards, 2 matches can be played simultaneously rather than counting each individual match as 2 points. If you choose one of these alternatives to make up your match please inform the GVDA via email or by putting a note on the score reporting portal. Thanks. Stay safe and warm.

Bad Weather February 16th

Currently there is a no-unnecessary-travel advisory in Monroe and other surrounding counties. We will make a decision by mid afternoon on what the plan is for tonight's matches so keep an eye out on this news blog for updates. Thanks & be safe!

We had 12 players broken into two groups (Clubs and Spades) of 6. The top 3 from each group advanced to a final round robin group. The GVDA kicked in $50 towards a 2nd player advancing and each of the finalist put in $10 each to fully fund a second player from Rochester advancing to the Regional/National qualifier in March.

Here is the breakdown:

Dan Houser came out on top in the final round robin and there was a 3-way tie between Robert Stewart, Dale LaFrance and Andy Joss. They went into a tiebreaker..round robin of one leg of 501. Robert came out on top to secure the second spot. Dale LaFrance is the 1st alternate and Andy Joss the 2nd alternate.

Congratulations to Dan and Robert and to all the shooters!! Dan and Robert will be representing Rochester in the Regional/National qualifier on March 13th.

ADO Winmau Masters REgional date changed!

NOTICE!!!

The date for the Winmau Masters Regional/National qualifier has been changed to Sunday March 13th due to a conflict with the 401 doubles tournament that most participants had already committed too.

Winter 2016 - Online scoring now live

IMPORTANT: Starting this coming season, you must log your score after each match as per the new ONLINE process (still before 7pm on the following day (Wednesday)). If you fail to log your score online, you will not be credited for any points for the week unless your opponents for the week do manage to log a valid score. Hopefully most of you will now be familiar with the online system which has been running for the last couple of seasons. Only in the event of a complete system failure should you call the 461-9240 number which we are keeping for a limited time as a safety net.

Registration
To be given access privileges to the scoring system, you must first be a registered user. To register as a user, go the www.thegvda.org and follow links to ‘Log In’ (Top right) and then ‘Register here’.

You will be prompted to enter an email address. This will be used to recover forgotten passwords and receive proof of score submission emails so it is essential that your correct email is entered. Choose a username and password that you will use to log into the system.

If you are a captain or are designated backup for a team you will be set up as associated with that team as soon as scheduling for the new season has been completed. Once you have been assigned access rights to a particular team you will notice additional links available to you in the secure section when logged in.

Score Submission
Follow the ‘Log your score’ link. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays this page will allow you to enter scores for the week. Use the dropdown to select 0-8 (or 10 in Metro) or Win by Forfeit (making sure you call the hotline first for authorization). Add any notables in the appropriate spaces provided and submit the form. You will be sent a confirmation email from thegvda.org and can also review your score submissions as stored in the system. If you have received an email or can see it under the review link, then you are good to go.

Timing

The score submission page is only active on Tuesday and Wednesday. Scores can be submitted up until 7pm on Wednesday, after which only notables can be submitted.
